ASPP Spotlight: Dr. Christina Marco-Fies

Dr. Christina Marco-Fies was nominated for ASPP’s Monthly Member Spotlight/Accolade as a result of her Focus on Children and Youth and Integrity. Guided by ASPP and NASP standards, she exemplifies professionalism and dedication to advocating for children, families, and staff in the Muhlenberg School District. Dr. Marco-Fies excels at implementing evidence-based interventions, assessments, and counseling services tailored to the diverse needs of a broad student population, including English Learners. She fosters trust and collaboration, ensuring a comprehensive and ethical approach to every challenge.

 

Dr. Marco-Fies actively contributes to key committees, including serving on the SAP team, acting as secretary of the Berks School Psychologists Association (BSPA), and providing professional development to district staff. She brings invaluable insights and honest perspectives to MTSS meetings, where her expertise is instrumental in shaping strategies to support students effectively. Dr. Marco-Fies has also served as a mentor to many employees and has supervised interns on several occasions, sharing her knowledge and fostering professional development in others. Beyond her district, Dr. Marco-Fies is involved in ASPP Leadership and has contributed to statewide initiatives, such as participating on the gifted discussion board for PaTTAN. Her contributions are countless, and her involvement extends across a wide range of initiatives and organizations, ensuring her positive impact is felt far and wide. With a compassionate, growth-oriented mindset, Dr. Marco-Fies continually exemplifies best practices, inspires confidence and resilience, and sets a standard of excellence in the field of school psychology. Congratulations, Dr. Marco-Fies!
